The 11+ application process is one of the most stressful things I have gone through as a parent to date and it is something I managed to get through with my eldest daughter this year (2017). In this video, I wanted to share some of my experiences and offer some advice from what I’ve learnt, to those perhaps going through it now.
N.B: All videos in the 11+ Personal Advice series were filmed before the announcement from the twelve heads of the North London Consortium for Girls, where they announced a change in the 11+ application process to their schools. As of January 2019, it is their intention that the two 11+ examination papers for both Consortium groups for entry in September 2019 will be replaced by a one hour bespoke cognitive ability test taken at a Consortium School. There will be no further written assessments at their Schools, and they will develop the creativity of their interview processes.
This video specifically covers tutoring. Should your child be tutored in the lead up to the 11+ exam? And how to pick a good tutor.
