The CoCo House: A Captivating Blend of Generations and Love
In a stunning architectural feat inspired by the Pixar film “Coco,” Vietnamese architect Duy Le has created a mesmerizing home that celebrates the unbreakable bonds of family. The CoCo House, despite its narrow 4.6-meter width, achieves a spacious and enchanting atmosphere through the innovative use of glassy materials, blurring the lines between reality and illusion.
Le’s attention to detail is evident throughout the house, from the reading space on the second floor, where half-designed window arches reveal a complete pattern when reflected by mirrors, to the seamless integration of a fishpond and garden into the co-living space. These natural elements not only add beauty but also influence the microclimate of the living area, reflecting the investor’s passion for planting and fishkeeping.
The façade of the CoCo House is adorned with glass bricks reminiscent of wave patterns, paying homage to Vietnam’s Western water region while enhancing the building’s aesthetic curve. These bricks provide privacy for the open space while allowing an abundance of natural light to flood the interior, creating a luminous atmosphere suitable for daily activities.
Functionality is not sacrificed for the sake of aesthetics in this architectural marvel. Ventilation bricks are strategically placed to protect against rainy weather and promote air circulation, serving the dual purpose of drainage and ventilation. The arrangement of these bricks is carefully considered to ensure both visual appeal and practicality.
The CoCo House boasts five gardens of varying sizes, aligning with the investor’s love for planting and acting as natural noise suppressors and dust prevention measures. The glass roof, adorned with scattered marble pebbles, regulates light, further enhancing the enchanting ambiance of the home.
Duy Le Architects has created a testament to the harmonious blend of aesthetics and functionality in the CoCo House. Drawing inspiration from the beloved film, the design reflects the deep connection between generations and the importance of family while addressing the practical needs of its inhabitants. Through the masterful use of glassy materials and the integration of nature, the CoCo House offers a truly immersive and captivating living experience that will undoubtedly stand the test of time.
