Title: Felling hot, hot, hot
Review: After some deliberation, I went ahead and ordered this unit. There is no shortage of bad reviews, but I liked that this one had a built-in thermostat, and the 6,000W version is rated for a 30a breaker.Starting with power supply: I emailed Comfort Zone ahead of ordering and asked for a manual to be sent to me to make sure a circuit I already had (30a, 240V) would support it. They emailed me a PDF, and it had the table I attached here, showing the unit rated for 30a breaker and 10AWG wire. This was key in my decision, since I already had a dedicated 30a, 240V line in my garage. What is odd, the manual sent with the unit doesn’t have this table, and recommend 8AWG wire….not sure why. I will say, I leave this unit on 4500W (medium) mode for my garage, but I have run it on 6,000W mode with no problems. I have an Emporia power monitor, so I can see it pulling full rated wattage on all settings. As far as operation, I have had zero issues. I am using this in a 2-car garage that’s reasonably insulated. I live in Ohio, so in the winter we get fairly cold, but my garage seems to stay 10-20 degrees above ambient. I wanted something to keep the place above freezing so wood glue and paint stays good. So far, this unit has delivered. Being able to run it down to 41 as a low setting was key in my decision so on terribly cold days I can back it down to save power. As far as the short cycling, when I first fired this up, it did seem to short cycle, but I have a thermometer in the garage about the same height. It is always within a few degrees of the readout on the heater. I put a thermometer on my work bench, and it was about 4-5 degrees cooler. After letting it run all night, it cycles less – which makes sense because the temp of all the things in the garage are getting heated up as well. The temp split from work bench to heater is constant, but until the laws of physics change, heat will rise. Maybe they made an change since some of the review or maybe I got a good one, but I just have not had short cycling issues others have talked about. Now, I will say, I was underwhelmed by the fan power on this unit. I expected a much higher powered fan. I don’t have tall ceilings (9 feet), and I have this angled 30 degrees down, and I can’t feel the air in my face when it is on. This has no impact on it’s ability to heat the room, but if you want to stand under it and “feel the heat” – it’s less than impressive. I dock no stars for this, because I see this wrong expectation on my part. I have gone out to work in my garage a few nights, and bumped it 5-7 degrees while I am out there, and it brings the temp up within 20 minutes. The only other con is that the remote feels cheap and the battery lid doesn’t like to stay on. That’s bit of a longer term concern, but doesn’t really impact my use for now.Overall, for the price, this is an excellent unit. I would recommend. I have only had it running for a week, but I will update accordingly.

Title: Not impressed (initially) – but after some quick adjustments, it works better
Review: Remote doesn’t work, thr thermostat thinks it’s 15- 20 degrees warmer than actual room temp. Installed in garage – turned unit on and it recognized the temp correctly at 58 degrees. Within 10 minutes, thermostat read 74 degrees and turned off. Garage actually went from 61 to 63 degrees. Installation was way enough but the heat output is weak, the remote doesn’t work, and the thermostat is way off. This will be going back….Update 1:Received another unit – this one included a functioning remote, but unfortunately the heater stopped working after the first 5 minutes. It no longer gets hot, just clicks on and the fan blows air. Using the remote from the second unit, I can now control the first unit. The manufacturer suggested a few things to check:- Angle the unit down (this was already done)- Set the louvers straight to ensure max airflow out of the unit (this was already done)- Remove the ambient temperature sensor wire from the inside of the back of the unit, and leave hanging outside of the unit (this really helped!) – now the unit reads the actual temperature in the garage accurately and continues heating until the target temperature is reached.

Title: Super cheap quality
Review: This heater came with a defective blower and with a defective remotePlus heating the garage are was very poor not just because the blower not working but it wasn’t getting really that hot, it was basically functioning just as a cheap small baseboard heater that one can plug into 120w regular power not a 220w like this one, thers no difference in performance and no afficency whatsoever

Title: Great little unit and Price
Review: When the package arrived, I was surprised by the size (Smaller than I expected). I purchased this specifically because of the 6000W rating and that the thermostat seemed to go lower than many other products for the auto shutdown. I bought this heater to keep my garage from freezing more than I did to heat my garage to 70 degress (Which it will do in the dead of winter! Garage is about 625 sq/ft and moderately insulated). Wiring diagram says to use 8 ga wiring. I did not see that online, however I already had 10 ga ran to the garage which is good for 30A.Here are some stats recorded with a greenlee amp clamp. When first powered on to High from cold: 5,952 WattsHigh Power: 5,760 WattsMed Power: 4,772 WattsLow Power: 2,992 WattsReally close to manufacture specs and it doesn’t have any kind of really high surge power on start up (about 24 Amps).Only thing I wish it had was a bit larger or higher volume fan. (Fan pulls around 85 Watts when set to cool)

Title: Not good air flow
Review: I actually bought five of these heaters, one 5000W, two 6000W and two 7500W from various manufacturers. I ended up keeping the one from Doctor Heater and returned the others based on air flow, fan quality, and overall build quality. The Doctor Heater ones only have two heat settings and don’t have all the bells and whistles the others do, but I felt like does a better job at heating up my garage and will last longer. The extra airflow is key I think. The other brands don’t move the air well enough IMO. Too weak of fans.
