Title: good size and quality
Review: Great design and size for our nursery and very good quality. Straightforward instructions and seems sturdy, solid and durable. I added some peel and stick wallpaper to the back-board piece before fastening it to the finished bookshelf and it came out super cute.. very happy with this bookshelf for our little guy on the way

Title: Better than I anticipated
Review: The instructions say it will take 1-2 people about 1 hour to assemble and labels the difficulty level as moderate. I put it together myself in about two hours. Take into account I’m 4 months post-partum and not as strong as I once was, so I definitely felt like assembly put me through the ringer – but it’s totally doable. The book case is rather heavy and seems to be pretty sturdy – so that’s good. I recommend definitely taking the time to get organized before diving in to assembly. I was missing one screw (I counted them as soon as I opened the bag they were in and was, indeed, shorted) but I was able to borrow from our stash of screws in the garage. So, no big deal. I definitely faltered at the cam locks (I hate cam locks) but they actually weren’t too bad. The instructions are so-so, especially if you’re someone who really benefits from having the instructions spelled out word for word. I did come to a couple of spots where I had to redo one shelf multiple times because I kept missing a step (my fault). I’ve read through some other reviews here and I’ve noted a couple folks mention missing pre-drilled holes. My thoughts on this (and perhaps I’m wrong) is that they’ve got something on backwards. All the pre-drilled holes I needed were provided, except when I was inadvertently putting a part on incorrectly. So, definitely check your install before giving up. At the end of it all, I did end up with one slender back-piece, up on the very top, that got installed backwards – and I left it. I was so done at that point and it really isn’t that noticeable – except the predrilled holes for the very top of the back are on the front of the bookcase instead of the back where they should be. Oh well. All in all, once I was done, it didn’t seem so bad. I feel like I could do another in half the time next time. I do wish they’d provided a bit more wood glue with the parts – though I may have been heavy handed with the glue. My husband was shocked when he got home and saw that I’d put this big bookcase together and was pleased with how sturdy the shelf is. We moved it to the nursery and it looks great. Will update with a picture later.

Title: Great for the price, easy to put together.
Review: I was a little hesitant to buy, because reviews seemed mixed. It arrived in good shape for me, with no damage. Everything was clearly labeled, including screws. Only tool needed is a screwdriver, though I did use a power drill in the end, as there are a lot of little screws in the back.It is quite deep, stable, holds a lot. I bought two because they seemed small but definitely could have gotten away with one.Only issue I had was the ‘lip’ on the top shelf of one bookshelf. I would have left it off if I didn’t have two, as it looks fine without, but need to buy some longer wood screws now to out the lip on so that it matches the other. I tried using the power drill for this shelf and I think I just damaged the wood a bit. Another option would be to call for another top shelf part, but I think that is not needed.For the price, it is amazing – looks great, solid, instructions easy to follow.

Title: Looks great and it’s easy to put together but…
Review: This bookcase looks great and has a lot of room. I’m not sure why other people said the instructions were unclear and that the assembly was difficult. It took time to put together, maybe a little over an hour. It’s mostly putting in the cam screws and gluing in dowels. Use your own wood glue and put more than a drop in each hole. It’s ok even if the glue comes out a bit. Just wipe it off. My only gripe with this product is that in some place where I was putting in a screw the particle board would start to split. Keep in mind that I was not using excessive force and was not using a power tool. DO NOT USE A POWER TOOL!. I like that they give you a screw, wall anchor and a pre drilled hole in the top to mount it to the wall for safety. All in all the bookcase looks great, has a lot of room and feels sturdy. It’s made of particle board so you can always expect splitting I guess, but still….no good when that happens.

Title: Just what I needed without spending major $$$…
Review: Perfect for a toddler’s room. I bought 2 and mounted them side by side, securing them to the wall. They have worked out perfectly and hold all her books. We have close to 500 books (I know…It’s the one thing I can’t resist for her) and I still have room to grow. The majority of what we have are picture books, so you won’t be able to hold near that if you’re looking to shelve mainly chapter books or adult novels. The really tall ones I have to turn on their side. Plus the section at the bottom I use for toys. It has a rather deep lip on the front that makes it more like a box than a book shelf, which makes it perfect for toys. The shelves taper up, so the very top shelf is quite a bit shallower than the lower shelves. It’s still a totally usable shelf, though. It’s deep enough for up to regular sized books (chapter books, little board books, etc.). They seem to be wood laminate over chipboard (not paper veneer!!). The back piece is paper covered, but it looks and functions fine. There’s a pre-drilled hole in the top wood rail that is there specifically to secure it to the wall – a must have when in a toddler room in my opinion. The condition of the pieces weren’t in 100% satisfactory condition, but I didn’t want to mess with dealing with a return. Once the books were in, I forgot there was some shipping damage on the inside of the sides. I looked all over in town and couldn’t find any bookshelves appropriate for a toddler’s room under $300 each. These fit the bill!

Review: Ordered this shelf for our baby room. We loved the design of it and it was a good price but, the first thing i noticed after unpacking was what looked like patches of glue over some of the surfaces. I was able to get most of it off by scrapping it but the rest is hidden by a wall. Second was the chips on edges and corners. A couple large ones but mostly small, but the chips are there nonetheless. Lastly was the assembly, Although all pieces fit together pretty much perfectly, the fasteners and screws were a nightmare. Three screws stripped, and two of the cam locks cracked the pins from the wood under very little pressure. I would not recommend this if you are very particular over your furniture. Also, ordered two dressers from South Shore Furniture and there was nothing i disliked about them. Very well made.Advice to the manufacturer, pre-drill screw holes to make stripping much less likely and clean surfaces of the furniture before packaging.Thanks!
