Title: Excellent.
Review: This works BEAUTIFULLY. Easy-peezy. You’ll know when the cutting is complete because the sound of the “Humming” changes slightly. I LOVE having no sharp edges on the cans. It works well on cans of all sizes. Here’s a hint — some cans (like tomato paste or cranberry sauce) are actually easier to open when you place them upside down on the cutter. LOVE this product.

Title: This can opener is fantastic and hasn’t broken after a couple of years.
Review: I’ve been using this for a couple years, and it’s awesome. It’s really easy to use and not hard to get started on a can. I don’t have to try a couple of times to get the can on correctly. It also works on very tall and short cans, which is one reason I bought this model. In addition, it opens the can without cutting directly into the top of it; the whole top is cut off, under the metal rim along the sides. This produces a smoother cut edge, as well as a completely removed can top. Therefore, unlike with most can openers, the opening process doesn’t transfer anything that may be on the top of the can (germs or debris) into the juice of whatever is inside the can, as it cuts. It also looks nice and modern, sitting on any kitchen counter. It took me a while to find an electric can opener with good reviews that seemed like it would last, but I think I did with this one–and I am thrilled. We have a few of these in my family and are all enjoying them.UPDATE: I’m using this daily as of 2023 (8 years later) and haven’t had any issues that would lower my rating. This can opener holds the weight of very large cans on its own, with ease (like food-pantry sized cans). I do occasionally have trouble opening specific brands of specific types of cans, where sometimes it seems like it cuts through the edge, but the top is glued in a slightly different location and won’t come off easily after its cut. If you run into this issue, try flipping the can upside down and opening the bottom. This often works for me. I do occasionally run into a can where the top comes open partly after I cut around the entire circumference but won’t really budge, and so I tey to pry it open with a table knife. This is difficult and only somewhat effective. Rarely, I give up and throw the can away, since it will be hard to finish opening it without contaminating the inner contents with whatever’s on the outside of the can. This is pretty rare, and I tend to blame it on the can when it happens. You have to watch out for thr occasional metal shard coming off the cut edge of cans as well (which is pretty uncommon). Anyway, this can opener is still great and has stood the test of time.

Title: Itâs Quieter, Easier to Operate, More Efficient and Safer too
Review: I grew fed-up with electric can openers, as it should not take up to seven different âtriesâ to finally open up a can. Sometimes our other can opener did not grab the edge of the can, or instead it ripped off the top part of the paper, which jammed the blade. Another frustration was our older opener skipped large areas as it rotated along the top of the can. Therefore, instead, we started using the manual ones more often. However as Iâve aged, my fingers tend to âlock-upâ with simple repetitive movements, which makes such a simple chore as opening a can, into a painful task. This can opener works on the first attempt and without needing any other successive efforts. The electric motor is much quieter than any other electric can opener that we have owned. The design and construction of this can opener has a few features that offer some extra convenience. Around the back of the opener, it has an electrical cord that slides in and out of the machine, and this eliminates the extra length of the cord from getting in the way on my kitchen counter. In addition, I love the semi-circular metal bar underneath the pointed blade for a âgoof-proofâ and precise placement. This added feature is handy for a near-sighted person such as me, because it is the perfect guide for the can to fit beneath the blade, and it provides me with a level gauge so that I donât tip the can and accidently spill out any liquid.Just a light press along the back lever operates the can opener, it slices the top off from along the side, and I love that the top cover does NOT fall into the can. In addition, this can opener slices through the metal smoothly, there are no sharp or jagged edges, which would occasionally cut my fingers, when I reached into the can to retrieve it and throw it away. The last little feature is the small pair of scissors that came with my can opener, and how it tucks within the back of the opener. I am actually using these scissors more than I thought I would, I use them to cut through the cellophane packages of pasta and similar wrapped items. Previously, I had the bad habit of ripping these packages open with my teeth, because I just didnât take the time to hunt through our utility drawers. Therefore, although these are out of sight, they are instantly accessible when I need them, and Iâm no longer emptying out half a utility drawer to find a darn pair of scissors. The other model, which is less expensive, does not include them, but I personally find them handy to have around.

Title: Hamilton Beach Smooth Edge Electric Automatic Can Opener for Kitchen
Review: The last Hamilton Beach Smooth Edge Electric Automatic Can Opener for Kitchen I bought lasted 8 years. I’m looking forward to another 8 with an outstanding mechanical aid to my kitchen. I like that it opens the can by separating the can from the top so there aren’t any sharp edges.

Title: Last of the total of 40 days
Review: Old review:I liked was the whole concept about no sharp edges. I didnât like that it lasted literally a week and a half after my 30 day return window.New review:Well, I have discovered since writing the old review that this can opener works fine for the most part. It only doesnât like certain cans. And sometimes it gets stuck and needs a little nudge to help it continue cutting. I had bought some canned salmon at Costco and it did not like those cans at all. I donât know how it works on extra large cans. So I am changing my review from one star to four stars since it doesnât cover all cans and get stuck sometimes on others.

Title: Great product
Review: Easy to use, no razor edges to slice your finger on. I got this because my hands are not what they use to be and this is easy to use. Doesn’t take up much space at all either.

Title: It works great.
Review: I’ve used it only once, so far. It made a clean and quick removal of the can lid and didn’t leave a sharp edge like thew traditional can openers do. It also is easier to clean than the traditional can opener.

Review: LOVE this can opener! It is so simple to use, with minimal effort! Opens all types of cans! Perfect for the elderly, or not so elderly who have limited hand or arm use; great for children, as thereâs no sharp edges. Best investment with high recommendation! It is very sturdy; sits very solid on the counter; has a cutting knob at the height of 6 3/4â, or can be placed at the edge of the counter to cut deeper cans. After checking many reviews and reading some peopleâs struggle with it, Iâm including clear use instructions.Just pull up top lever; place and hold can underneath round turning knob; then, with free hand, push down lever half down to locked position, or proceed with pushing it all the way down to begin the cutting. As soon as the cutting sound becomes a little higher pitch, the cutting is done; release lever! Hold can with one hand and pull up lever with the other hand, to release the can.*** Lid is cut in the middle of the side rim; not underneath it (as I thought, at first.)I have had mine for several months, now, and it opens my cans, perfectly, every time!Includes a great and handy little scissor for other needs.Push lever down for storage.

Review: I had first seen over 40 years ago a can opened in the manner that this can opener opens a can. I was intrigued. I had never seen anything like it. Over the years we were stuck with an ordinary can opener but it was nearing the end of it’s life. I just so happened to see this can opener on Amazon and bought one. It works fantastic, no sharp edges. Easy to use. The biggest thing I like is that rather than having to empty a partially used can into another container to put in the fridge, I just put the lid back on and put it in the fridge. I’m not having to wash extra containers, I’m not wasting water and soap or my time. Once can is empty I can wash it and re-use the can for so many other things like painting or parts sorting. Makes me feel good using something more than once. We have used the new can opener for some time and it works well each and every time. Very dependable.

Review: Opening cans is usually an annoying part when cooking but, this product makes it enjoyable to open cans. It is easy to use, quick, safe, and takes up very little room on the counter or in the cupboard after use. It opens cans uniformly and effectively and keeps the can sturdy after opening so nothing spills. Opens cans flawlessly every time and it was so good I had to buy two and have one at the cabin.

Review: I knew what I was getting so I cannot really complain BUT I will. The Scissors, if not dangerous, would be a toy. It is tiny. My 40+ year old electric can opener finally fell apart. It had 2 knife sharpening slots and an automatic shut off with a magnet to hold the loose lid. This one as disclosed does not have an auto shut off thus the 4 stars. You have to press down and continue to hold down a leaver for the opener to cut the can and you have to release the leaver to shut the opener off. It is easy to use and I have cut 14 fl oz and 28 fl oz size cans. There is no need to hold the cans while they are being cut. I did have 1 problem. With one can I had trouble getting the cut lid off because the can was lined with a plastic film and the opener failed to cut through all the plastic.
