Title: Perfect wood stove for me!
Review: Iâve had several wood-burning stoves and this one is absolutely the best! (I bought the smaller version.) I use it on my back deck instead of a metal fire pit. This thing is heavy metal. It was extremely easy to assemble, and I had absolutely no issue at all with the door handle. I know some people have, but I simply installed it with one nut and when you close the door, you just gently push in on the spring loaded handle and turn the handle clockwise. Itâs an ancient, simple, and totally reliable wood burning stove handle design. Around the inside of the door, there is a fiberglass gasket in four sections to seal the door. A number of people, who actually really loved the stove, have said that this gasket will fall off. And the one on my stove fell off also. My feeling (guess) is whoever applies the gasket is not pressing it on hard enough. By the way, you donât really need the gasket at all. But nevertheless I bought a replacement roll of 1/8 inch thick press-on gasket material from Amazon for a few dollars and applied it in four sections around the inside of the door, and made sure I pressed it on hard! – and itâs working perfectly. A few people have said that the front door may not look totally level when closed, but this is normal. Itâs a heavy steel door with heavy hinges to make it easy to open and close and therefore there is some play in a reliable hing design like that. So, I would say, donât worry about it if you noticed that and realize its a good design for a rugged, wood-burning stove, that gets very hot!. The main reason I like this woodstove so much is it can handle longer pieces of firewood. Most firewood that you order or pick up a bundle at a gas station or grocery store is usually around 17 inches long. That size wonât fit in many small, wood-burning, camp stoves, But this size and a little longer easily fits in this stove. So, I can be pretty sure wherever I get firewood itâs going to fit. Also, the price of this stove is incredibly low for such a nice reliable design. The last stove I bought was made out of titanium and would actually fold up making it easy to carry but that stove was over $350 and the flimsy chimney mount broke and one of the legs kinked when I put a frying pan on top of the stove, but worse it would only handle wood about 15 inches long. I know that stove was made for a different purpose but if you donât need to carry a wood stove around on your back, this steel stove is perfect. My only other comment is that I did get the accessory kit which I recommend. Thereâs a small shovel which I really did not need, thereâs two steel side trays that attach to the left and right side of the stove and the right tray has some books on it for utensils – which are actually pretty handy. But the main reason I got the accessory kit was to get the grate. The grate helps elevate the wood you put in the stove from the bottom of the stove. Therefore, you get better air flow and combustion, which means a cleaner burn and therefore much easier to clean out the ashes. Even though I live in Virginia, I grew up in Michigan and know something about wood-burning stoveâs 🙂

Title: Nice little stove for my shop…
Review: I bought this little stove in hopes it might at least take the chill out of the air on cooler evenings/mornings on days I wanted to work in my 15×18 (uninsulated) shop. The ridgeline is sitting at a little over 15′ tall, (I closed in the back half of where I used to store my camper) so I wasn’t expecting miracles or anything, which was a good thing because I didn’t get any. It merely did exactly what I expected it to do & nothing more. It was around 30 degrees the first night I fired it up & after about 45 minutes the thermometer in my shop was sitting at a sultry 63… until… I went inside & brought out the trusty box fan, turned it on, & angled it towards the ceiling to circulate some of the accumulated warm air floating around above my work area. After about 5-7 minutes the ambient temp had jumped up to a 72 degrees. Literally perfect for me. It’s a nice little stove for the money. Sure, like other reviewers mentioned, it smokes a little out of the cracks in the door, but after the fire is rolling, everything finds its way up the pipes & is drawn outside. During installation I had to add about 36″ of pipe & a couple of 90’s in order to go out & up, so I went to the local brick & mortar store & grabbed some of that double wall galvanized gas water heater pipe which fit perfectly. Sure, it’ll eventually burn out, but I’ll just replace it when it does. Everything was installed and smoking in less than an hour. I also bought one of those little cast iron dampers offered up when you look at the stoves here on Amazon. It seems to help wood consumption & helps keep the heat in the stove a little longer so it has a chance to heat the fire box. It’s a well made & heavy little stove. For my use, I can fuel it with the dead limbs that plague my yard after a storm. I’ll just break em up in 12-14″ pieces and stack ’em up for later us on cooler days. I also had an old piece of small railroad track & a large splitting wedge I placed on top of the stove to collect & radiate a little more heat. I’m sure it helped, but I don’t know how much. The little stove does the job I intended it to do regardless. For my application, this little stove is perfect and I don’t regret pulling the trigger on it one bit. Long story short, I couldn’t be happier. Hope this helps.*** if you check out my photos you’ll see the double walled pipe I used. You’ll also see a sooty spot on the wall by where the pipe is running up. That’s from where I used the stove a few days prior to buying the pipe. The pipe I purchased doesn’t leak smoke into the room at all. The spot was pre-existing ***Troy48/M/Texas

Title: Great for a starter
Review: I bought this stove with a 4 meter bell tent. I’ve used it multiple times while camping in low 40°f temperatures. I enjoy the ease of heating the tent with it and it cooks nicely too. The only problem I’ve had with it is the firebox seal material is only glued in place and falls off the door the first time you use it. Some of the after market seals work better in the long run.

Title: Neat little stove
Review: Bought this for my off-grid cabin. It’s 200 sq ft and heats me out pretty good. On days I’ve woken up to it being in the 30’s inside and it takes about an hour for it to heat my cabin up to around 80 degrees. It’s efficient for my use and I’m still using it to this day about a year later. This year will be second winter using it. You will want to burn the stove outside for a few hours to cure the paint on it because it does have an awful smell to it and also will produce smoke off of it as well. I used pine 2×4 scraps and burn it really hot and I had to burn it for around 2 hrs. Overall, I’ve enjoyed this stove for what it is. I cook off it in the winter time, heat up my water off of it since I’m in a dry cabin. So, it’s great.Pros:Small and lightweight. Can take it camping and also cook off of it. Could fit about the same size logs in it as normal size ones but sometimes have to split them down even smaller.Cons:The pipe that it came with is backwards. The top piece of pipe should always go inside the bottom one for when creosote drops down. I never used the pipe that it came with and stuck to traditional stove pipe.
