Review: I initially bought one of these for parents in 2020 to help decrease their difficulty in reading small print. I wasn’t using it at the time, but it was definitely making the rounds between both parents, indicating that they both found it useful for reading.Fast forward a few years and the difficulty in reading small print is causing a real problem in my own middle-aged eyes. That’s when a another magnifying glass became a no-brainer.It’s a simple product but a well done one. Three AAA batteries (I use rechargeables just fine) create plenty of powerful, pleasant light (via the LED lights) for reading. The magnifying on the large glass is wonderful, although I have always had difficulty with the “bonus” small, extra 45x magnification light. However, I may have simply not had a small enough object to properly view that? I’m not sure. . . Either I’m a magnifying glass moron, or that’s just too big of a magnification to properly use on this kind of instrument.! (I see other reviews complaining about the same thing!) Luckily, I’ve found main large magnifying glass perfect for everything I’ve needed it for!Lastly, I found out that the company is great and stands behind their product! I had the occasion to contact them for something very minor, but they resolved the issue way beyond my expectations. I am delighted in my purchase to say the least!

Review: Surprising quality. At the $7.99 sale price I paid, it’s a steal. It’s definitely worth more and I rarely say that. Doesn’t really leave much to be desired.I haven’t used a magnifier much in my life since I am near-sighted and have great vision up close, but I am getting old and have some vision damage.So I don’t know what to expect in various models and price ranges.Little bit of glare problem (you see your reflection a bit) but your brain learns to look past it and focus on the correct thing through the glass and it’s not bad.Great focus, clean/clear, heavy glass. No scratches or prints. Because of the thick glass and lightweight plastic base, it’s top heavy even with batteries, so be sure to hold it securely. Maybe I’ll put a bit of grippy tape on the handle just to be sure I don’t slip.The case and lens cleaner were a nice surprise, great quality, and really important for such a device to keep dust off the lens.The power button feels pretty good quality and should last the life of the product. No worries there.The product is comfortable to hold and has a good sized lens.Battery compartment door fits flush and your hand basically holds it on anyway. LED have great battery life too.The lights are bright enough, but they are much brighter near the small magnifier section. So that leaves a little to be desired there.The high magnification lens takes some time to get positioned, but it can work well to see very small details or investigating a dead bug, investigating at an imperfection on something, etc. It’s useful to have, but some light shines through it, the LEDs are focused there primarily.I would prefer the small, super-high magnifier sold separately on a dedicated unit.But for the price I paid, this is a great tool to have, especially with my aging eyes and the technical work I do.
