Title: What do I do when the battery fails? See my answer.
Review: The battery backup works fine, and the software gives a pretty good review of its performance. I’m very disappointed that Amazon doesn’t offer a replacement for the battery. Of all the batteries Amazon carries, it doesn’t offer a replacement battery for its own product. Wouldn’t that make sense? These batteries have a short lifespan. Can someone at Amazon tell me where to find a replacement battery? As a follow up to the above review: Since I couldn’t find an exact replacement for the battery in my old UPS; I took a gamble and ordered the NPP NP12-5AH battery, also from Amazon. Worked Like A Charm. It fit perfectly in the small battery compartment, charged up real nice, and has my older 600VA running like new. It was also a very reasonable replacement cost wise. Don’t let the low cost and country of origin deter you. This is a quality product and I’m lucky to have found it.

Title: It works great
Review: The setup was easy. Four of the sockets use the backup power, the other four don’t. So I hooked up just the necessary things for backup: My PC, monitor, and router. Then I pulled the plug out of the wall. There was no interruption whatsoever – everything just kept running. It said I had 26 minutes of battery time. So I’ll break that down, because so many people want a time estimate. I bought the 600va/360w version. My PC was built to be low power consumption. I estimate it consumes 150w, maximum, and much less when idle. The monitor is a medium-sized 1080p monitor. I am guessing it takes 30w. That’s a blind guess. The modem, maybe 15w. So that’s less than 200w, and I get 26 minutes running time. Your desktop PC probably uses a bit more power. I’m on a circuit that blows frequently, so I only need a short time while the circuit is reset. So if you’re only supporting a router/modem, it should last a very long time. It is apparent to me that many of the unhappy reviewers are need a commercial-grade solution and are expecting much more power and features than this simple, inexpensive UPS has. The unit is rated at 360w. As you approach that maximum, efficiency will drop and your run time will be greatly reduced. Keep it to 200w or less, if you want good efficiency.Don’t try putting a ‘fridge or a microwave on this little guy. It isn’t made for that. A normal laptop might get a few hours out of this. Most desktop PC’s use more power than mine does, especially a fancy gaming rig or software engineer’s station. If you have a mighty computer, you won’t get much more than time to shut it down gracefully. A more modest computer might last 15 minutes or more. Please keep in mind these are my amateur estimates. There is software. Check under the product info on the Amazon page. I forget which tab it is under, but there’s a link. Plug the supplied cable into your computer to configure the unit. Install software. It will ask for a username and password. Both are “admin” until/unless you change them. You don’t have to use the software. It just lets you tinker with settings and see the battery time and load. Handy for experimenting with different loads. No complaints, it’s doing just what I hoped it would do. Hope this review is helpful to some.

Title: Stopped Working After 2 Years
Review: A power line in my neighborhood was rubbing up against a tree causing the power to flicker occasionally. It took our power company weeks to get around to fixing it, so I bought this UPS. It arrived after they finally fixed it, so the power situation stabilized. Still, I was glad I had it even if I didn’t need it.Fast-forward 2 years, and a storm knocks a tree into a different portion of the power line, and knocked out power a few times. The UPS kicked on and kept my internet-router working for a bit, but power was out for hours, so eventually the UPS ran out of power. Regrettable, but understandable. But soon, when the power tripped, the UPS would simply shut-down. So all-told this UPS worked fine about 5 or 6 times, and now is just a big heavy power-strip for all the good it does.Folks, if you’re trying to save some money by going cheap on a UPS, you’re going to end up spending more money on something reliable once this unit inevitably fails, so just skip this POS and get a good one.

Title: PowerMaster Software
Review: The UPS device is working well. I have no problems with the physical device. However, the PowerManager+ software is a waste. It installs without error but there is no indication that it recognizes the UPS and it will not launch. Double clicking on the icon does nothing, no response whatsoever. If you want monitoring software I do not recommend this solution. If all you want is a working UPS then you might be OK. I haven’t had a power failure since installing it so I can’t comment on how it performs then. We shall we.

Review: It seems like a solid unit. These are actually built by Cyberpower, which uses the Cyberpower Powerpanel program to connect to Windows. The courier Intelcom delivered this to the wrong house. Thankfully, amazon was able to send a 2nd one out and I didn’t have to fight with them or anything! It can be set up to turn off your pc automatically after a power outage, after it turns your pc off it will also shutdown the UPS about a minute after. Once power comes back on the UPS will automatically turn back on and if you have your PC setup accordingly in the BIOS your PC will also turn on automatically. One thing about this unit is if the battery of the UPS goes to 0% it will not turn back on automatically. But you shouldn’t be draining it to 0% anyway. However, on my UnRaid server, I could not get this functionality to work. I can get it to turn off the server but not shutdown the UPS; as a result, I would have to manually turn on the server. It recognizes the UPS; I tried built-in UPS functionality and NUTS for the server, but neither worked. It works perfect on Windows though. I get about 50 mins of runtime on my PC if idling or browsing the web.Id recommend this UPS as long as your not wanting it to shutdown and restart non-windows servers, for anything windows it works great.

Review: Bought this one as an alternative, no high expectation to start! But, I was wrong! For the price, decent build quality, good amount plugs spots, more importantly it does the job. So far we had experienced 2 blackouts, every time this thing kicked in and did its job. It kept my internet modem+wifi+security system alive for long enough for power to be restored. (once lasted 30 min, 2nd time it was 2+ hours).Recommended for the value and piece of mind.

Review: Just received this UPS, so this review is not about durability and longevity. I wanted to post this info as I could not find anything on this topic before purchasing so I took a chance. Long story short, the communication protocol is compatible with the APC daemon, so it is compatible with servers such as Unraid and others using the APC daemon. I would presume it will also communicate with APC made software (or any other UPS utility using the APC daemon) running on a PC in case people don’t like Amazon’s software solution (I saw some complaints on this). The UPS itself is running perfectly so far, no complaints.

Review: It’s your basic Ups unit, the value for the money seems to be good. I buy these for basic battery backup, nothing more, and I don’t need anything fancy. Most power outages in my area last for a few minutes and I don’t bother with shutting stuff down, I just keep going and that’s has been fine, so far. I do recommend you buying the biggest UPS that your budget will allow. Because batteries degrade over time and a big UPS under a typical computer load may last up to 5 years, whereas if you get 1 that barely has the wattage that you need you may be replacing it in 2 to 3 years.
