Title: skeptical at first but pleasantly surprised
Review: I ended up choosing this toaster because it had a 70% five star rating. I was very concerned with the lower ratings, and the problems that some had. I thought that perhaps, they just got lemons and I would give it a chance anyway.First impressions were skeptical at best. it’s very light weight and the casing is light plastic. Wasn’t very happy with that but as it turns out, it works fine for me.I put my toast in (I like it on the lighter side) so I set it on lower setting. It came out perfect. evenly toasted all around.So for me, this toaster has been a winner. If problems develop, I’ll update my review.

Title: Great toaster on a budget or small apartment
Review: As the title says, this is a reliable toaster. Nothing fancy. It does have a crumb catcher at the bottom, which is easy to access and clean. Besides that, heats fast, cooks evenly. Im not a toaster expert doing test on toast colors, but id buy it again, or for someone for a gift for sure. I use it like twice a week so…. it does the job.

Title: Everything I expected.
Review: Thus far, this toaster has been working up to par and as expected. I like the classy look. I didn’t even need to change the settings it was on (it recommends to try it as they have it set and then if you need to, to adjust). I have not done large things (i.e. bagels), but it’s been perfect for my toast. The crumb cleaner/drainer things at the bottom works very nicely and I’m sure if I can find some of that computer air spray that people use for their keyboards I can clean the top groves even better to keep it looking really nice. Glad I purchased.Update***as of 5/8/15. About 5 days after the 30 day return policy I was unable to make any toast. I would push the lever down and it would pop back up. I tried maneuvering settings and just trying it different pressures to see if it was just a glitch, but it wouldn’t come to life. I knew it was out of the 30 days, but I contacted Amazon anyway, spoke with a live person and was able to return my product for a new one. I have not started using the toaster as of yet, due to a series of events. I will update if anything happens again. Seems like a decent product, just maybe got a bad one. Amazon is the best. Keep it up :)Update***as of 8/5/15: this is still going and works like I expect a toaster to work. I am grateful it’s still working after my breakdown earlier this year. I would buy again. I see there are LOTS of different ratings. Maybe you need to try for yourself. They are good to work with and returns are smooth.

Title: Slow, slow, slow
Review: It does a good job toasting but as my husband says, you can start your coffee, go to the bathroom, make your coffee and it’s still not done. Otherwise it does a good job if you have the time. For us, retired even, it is not worth the wait. We will get a new one.

Title: It works and browns toast even
Review: My other toaster from new never toasted my bread even.. for the last 2 years I have been making toast and 2/3 of the total toasting time I would turn the bread upside down to finish it so it would be browned even.You can imagine the first time with this new B&D toaster the toast popped up and it was perfectly browned on both side left me speechless ! First thing in the morning I like to have coffee and toast.I had thought all toasters were the same. I WAS WRONG. if you are very picky like me you need to order this toaster today.

Review: It is a simple toaster, yet with an elegant design. Does it’s job quite well. Except that sometimes the toasting is not even and we need to rotate the bread and put it back. It happens mostly with bagel and whole grain bread.It is durable (considering we use it 2/3 times a week and it has been there for 3 years now).
