The compartments are a bit smaller than I envisioned, but I only checked the measurements for the unit as a whole and not the individual sections. I’m using this to store blankets next to our couch.

Review: I wanted to love this. I didn’t realize that the lids would be velcro on BOTH sides, making them 100% detachable. I didn’t love that because I feel like if you’re using that for a young enough child (we are using it as one toy box in our sons room) then he will likely take it apart and take things out of it for a new hiding space…
