get ready to tighten and sculpt those abs for summer with these core crushing pool exercises we’re going to start with the jump and hip twist so you want to start with your feet together you’re going to bounce off the balls of the feet rotating your hips right and left so when you twist your hips you really want to be twisting with those core muscles so that you’re using your abs to do that rotation you want to go for about 30 seconds and you’re going to be feeling the burn in that waistline the straight leg kick is a great way to work those ABS and also get a great hamstring stretch so what you’re going to do is kick one leg up straight to the opposite hand pulling the ABS in tight really trying to lift that leg all the way almost to the surface of the water and you’re alternating sides remember try to keep that leg really straight so you’re using those lower abdominals to lift the legs and keep them engaged the entire time try to get about ten on each leg next we’re going to go into the Tuck jump what you want to do is stay on the balls of the feet bringing your body out of the water and your knees up towards your chest you’re going to jump up and draw those knees up and in towards the chest want to keep your abs engaged the entire time your heart rate is going to spike and your core is going to burn get about 10 to 15 reps this next move is called the trunk rotational and it’s really going to work those abs and obliques you’re going to start with your arms out long palms together and you’re going to go underneath the water to really fight the resistance swooping your hands across your body really creating a nice resistance for your obliques and your core muscles allow your foot to pivot as you twist your hips so that your core stays engaged and you stay safe you want to get about 10 to 15 reps on each side our next move is called the Carioca now this is like a skip forward and back you’re gonna be twisting your hips as you bring that knee across your body and then behind so you’re twisting littles hips bringing speak forward and back and you’re really working across your pool here so that you can get your cardio up and your abs are engaged gonna get that nice twister rotation try to go back and forth in your pool about 10 reps and you’ll be feeling the bird so for our last move we have the pool side hip lift this is a great move to work the core and a little bit of the arms you’re going to sit on the edge of the pool with your hands by your hips going to push through the heels of your hand and lift your hips gently off the side of the pool you’re using your core muscles here to hold yourself up and then slowly lowering it back down so give it that nice little pause here at the top and then lower you can feel it in your arms and your abs straight legs so make this a little bit harder and then come back down whatever’s good for you get about 10 to 15 reps be sure to try those five exercises to get that core ready for summer
