Title: Seems accurate, alarm only operates on formaldehyde level
Review: This device turns out to be very useful, although not exactly for the purpose I had intended. I got it for the VOC meter because I have an SLA resin 3D printer that I have been holding off on setting up until I can get it properly vented. Although this meter does have an alarm function, that alarm can only be set to sound based on the formaldehyde detector. It makes sense that there isn’t exactly a safe/unsafe range for VOCs since they include a wide range of chemicals with differing degrees of toxicity. For instance, to test its VOC detection, I walked it past the room where my mom was applying nail polish and that registered much higher than the rest of the house, as expected. I really wanted to be able to set an alarm point for VOC concentration that would have made sense for the hazardous ones associated with 3D printing. So although it doesn’t serve that purpose for me, it does function well. In preparation to sit down and write my review, I turned it on again and thought perhaps something was wrong because both the 2.5 and 10 micron particulate levels read unusually high. Then I thought, I have been ignoring a reminder in my phone to change the carbon prefilter in my indoor air cleaners for a couple weeks. I opened one, and sure enough, it was completely caked in particulates.Overall, it’s a good device. The lack of customization options on the alarm is unfortunate, however.

Title: Great for smaller workshop environment.
Review: We started using this when using a combination of fans and higher VOC content materials. It’s been a good check to verify the bad stuff is being exhausted out and not lingering indoors. While I don’t have another instrument to calibrate against, it’s great piece of mind to see our exhaust working.

Title: Works quickly, easy to use
Review: This air quality tester has a large display that is easy to read. The air quality readings are large and easy to read and not at all confusing. The poor range readings are in red and the good range readings are in green. There is an easy to use menu to choose different test settings. It comes with the white charger, but I did not have a wall plug in mine at least. The black wall plug (as seen in my picture) is not included. So you do need to have your own wall plug to be able to charge this. It charges pretty quickly and it keeps a charge a long time.

Title: Love Hate Relationship
Review: Over the past many years, I’ve become more and more obsessed with my health and with that, I’ve searched for all sorts of things that’ll aid me in becoming a better more healthier person. Something I hadn’t really gave much thought or attention to was the air quality in which I’m exposed to daily – besides of course the usual CO2 sensor that’s now required within each home.Enter the Air Quality Monitor. This device is a novel one, allowing the user to read and monitor several air quality factors, both of which I had no idea existed and how bad they were for my health. The first is HCHO which stands for Formaldehyde (something that’s also found in coffee is found in the air – was not aware of this) and something known as TVOC or Total Volatile Organic Compounds (another thing I was not aware of). Of these, it’s only made clear of the PPM (Parts Per Million – reported on the monitor as PM2.5 and PM 10 [PM2.5 correlates to the HCHO]) correlates to the TVOC or not as it’s not expressed clearly within the manual. After calibrating the machine, which the manual states should be done outside in a cooler temp before being brought inside for actual testing, the machine has reported that every home or apartment I’ve been in comes us as RED, meaning – leave as soon as possible. I don’t know if it’s the machine, the locations, the detection unit – no idea.Several notable things: the manual states that there are 4 options for length of time: 10 mins, 30 mins, 120 mins, or 2 days; however, within the actual operation of the device the max time is 120 mins – there is NO 2 day option. The next thing is that the screen has one specific viewing angle and that’s DEAD ON – and any angle may make you think the device is displaying a yellow from a green or a red from a yellow. So, make sure that you’re viewing the device head-on when doing all your readings.Overall, I find air quality testing to be an interesting thing and would like to find other air quality readers to test against this one before I just say it’s garbage or a home run. So, with that I’m going to leave it at 3 out of 5 in the case it’s actually reading correctly and I’m just too stubborn to leave when the rating is RED.

Title: Works
Review: It does work, not really sure what air is considered “bad”, as all the air I’ve tested has been ok.
