Title: Great Smart Doorbell
Review: This doorbell camera is fantastic! The picture quality is crystal clear with the 2K resolution, and the night vision works surprisingly well. I love the two-way audio feature—it’s super convenient to talk to visitors without opening the door. Here’s what made the installation and setup easy:1. Hardwiring Tip: Make sure your existing doorbell wiring is compatible. I had to double-check mine, but once I confirmed, it was easy to install.2. Follow the App: The app walks you through the setup step by step, from connecting to Wi-Fi to testing the doorbell.3. Storage Options: I went with the SD card option to avoid cloud subscription fees—it’s great to have both choices. It integrates well with Alexa, and the notifications are instant. Highly recommend this if you want a reliable and affordable smart doorbell!”

Title: Easy to install in place of old Nest doorbell
Review: We had an old nest doorbell that was starting to act up a lot and go offline all the time. I also wasn’t a fan of the subscription model there and so I gave this a try. The insulation was simple and the mounting holes were exactly the same so I didn’t have to drill any new holes which was nice. The quality of the video is great and I really like that there is no subscription. I just pop in an SD card and it works great. The only minor criticism I would say is that the build quality is a little cheap compared to the nest, but for the low price it’s completely acceptable.

Title: Great stand alone doorbell
Review: I’m a big fan of Kasa smart home items. The build is well done and looks great. The wideness of the camera allows for a very big viewing area. I didn’t have any lag with my wifi. I got this to be able to have 24/7 recording without a subscription. Just put a sd card in and you are good to go!Installing was simple with their guide and their step by step instructions on the app and paper copy.My only issue with this doorbell is it does not work well with my google nest speaker and google home app. So I had to return it. If you don’t use google home this is a great stand alone doorbell. I think it might work better with amazon echos but I recommended looking up videos before buying.

Title: Great features for the price
Review: This is my first smart doorbell, so I can’t personally compare it to any others. But I did do a lot of comparison shopping before I bought it, and I’m very pleased. While other doorbells seem like they are pretty restricted without paying the monthly fee, the Kasa doorbell really only loses the ability to store long-term history, which I can live without. It’s not like a few dollars a month would kill me, but I just don’t like getting roped into ANOTHER subscription if I can avoid it. To that end, the local video storage is great. Setting the video quality to 720p, I can get about two weeks of nonstop video monitoring. Once the card is full, the oldest videos are deleted. It works great. My only wish is for it to accept larger micro SD cards. The higher resolutions would fill up the card very quickly. The build quality feels good, and it has been rained on during more severe storms a few times without any issue. The Kasa app works fine. My biggest complaint is, when you get a notification, it takes a minute or two for it to show up on your timeline, so you end up scrubbing around trying to find the activity that just occurred. That’s an app issues. Maybe it will be addressed someday. Also pleased with the notification options. When I first got it, I was getting flooded with notifications, but I’ve dialed in the activity zone and sensitivity so that I get not too many unnecessary alerts. They still occur, but it’s an acceptable amount.Extremely pleased with my purchase, and it looks quite nice on my home. When someone walks up, the ring around the button lights up. The installation is a little involved, but it does a decent job walking you through the steps. Obviously much easier if you already have an existing wired doorbell. Highly recommend this doorbell.

Title: Wouldn’t stay connected to it’s phone app
Review: The instructions on to install this video doorbell, attach it to your 2.4G (which it requires, not 5G) Wi-Fi network, link it to the phone (Android in my case) app, and make the Bluetooth connection to the chime aren’t very clear. Especially the need to tightly time what you do when relative to the various colours of blinking lights in the front of it before they move on to the next step. However after several attempts and master ‘paper clip’ resets, I initially got it working at my desk. Later however when I actually installed it on the outside of the house, wired (including bypassing the house’s original chime), it had lost connectivity to the app. So I loosed it from the house (the reset is on the back) and did it all over again (out in the cold) and it worked again. A couple of hours later – gone again. So did the reset all over again and nothing. I then did a bit more in-depth troubleshooting – my router could see it and ping it, I could ping it from my phone too (with excellent numbers), so I don’t think it was dropping off due to Wi-Fi issues. E.g. distance. It just seemed like the app had ‘lost’ it as an available device.I had installed a SD card in it for local storage, so I pulled it back out, checked it in my PC, and there were tons of exactly 60-second videos on it. Which was a bit inconclusive. Also, interestingly enough, through all of this the actual ringing of its remote chime when the button was pushed worked. So I contacted Kasa’s (actually TP-Link) tech support via a chat window, and not too surprisingly they initially wanted to talk me through all the reset stuff I had already done three times. I told them about my being able to ping it all the way from my phone and they then concluded the camera itself was defective. They said they would send me instructions on how to return it to them for a warranty replacement. Which seemed a bit strange to me as this looked more like an app issue instead of a camera hardware issue.I later received an email from them asking me to send them proof of purchase, country where I am (Canada), and photo of the on the box serial number, which I did.Later more I received another email from them, contradicting the prior one, saying because it was less than 30-days old, rather than they warranty replacing it, I should return it to the seller (Amazon) for a refund. Huh?? They only warranty it if it’s MORE THAN 30-days old?? Whaaaat? So I did just that and that ended of my experience with Kasa. Back to shopping for a video doorbell.

Review: I wanted to get a video doorbell that was cost effective and did 24/7 recording without paying for a subscription. This is the perfect solution for this. I bought a 128 GB micro SD card which I put into the back of this doorbell. Amazing how much storage fits on a little tiny card these days.I am very happy with it. Install was easy. The step by step instructions in the app are simple to follow and accurate. Took about 15 minutes to turn off power, take out old doorbell, bypass the ringer, screw in the adapter, connect doorbell, turn on power, and connect to wifi and format the SD card. There are a lot of options in the app for notifications, video quality, sounds, being able to have messages sent. My kids think the new doorbell is hilarious too. I like playing the message for them that they are trespassing and the police have been called. The video quality is quite excellent. Night vision is decent too. Hoping it lasts a long time because I am quite impressed. The AI that picks up when a person approaches the door and instant notifications work extremely well.

Review: I purchased the Kasa KD110 Video Doorbell spring of 2023. It was a great purchase. I live in Southern Ontario, so the weather ranges from summer hot to winter cold. This device has worked great throughout it all. I had to replace the old typical door bell in our house. I pulled it all out. Ran a new power supply and hooked it all up. The door bell and the chime paired up immediately. Setup door bell using the Kasa app, got it connected to my wifi and was watching everything in front of my house in minutes. Installed a micro sd card and can review everything the camera sees. The image is decent for both daytime and nighttime viewing. The motion detection works well as does the person detection. Have had no issues with connecting to the camera from where ever I may be. The two-way audio works well enough.Would be great if they would add the ability to view the camera from a web browser on my computer.
