Title: This thing is awesome and I love it! …but not without shortcomings
Review: I absolutely love this thing and use it all the time! It makes night-time browsing, watching, or reading SO much easier! I wouldn’t recommend it for something that requires a lot of interaction, unless you’ll be pairing it with some bluetooth device, as reaching up from bed will quickly tire your arms. The contraption does have some shortcomings, but for the most part they’re fundamental issues of engineering something like this. I think the one thing that isn’t, is the fact that they use a plastic screw-handle at the base, that according to many reviews is far too easily breakable, and I believe that (though I have not yet broken mine). If you take care not to over-tighten this part, I believe it can live on for a reasonable amount of time, but this is certainly the weakest aspect of the device. I imagine it was done to help keep the price at a reasonable level, especially considering how much metal must already be in it. But personally I’d pay the few bucks more for a sturdier, metal clasp at the base.Another common gripe about this device is that it will constantly slip downward from what you set it to. It’s certainly easy to configure it in a way that this happens; that’s not a fault of the device, but of the general problem of what you’re trying to get it do (I imagine a $200+ device might solve it, but nothing this straight-forward of a solution). If you think of it like an engineer (or simply heed the advice of the accompanying paper), you’ll twist it into a bit of an S shape to improve the stability of the form, or a spiral if you’ve the space. Yes, it’ll still slip slightly at first, and yes that uses up some of the available reach, but it’s a simple problem of gravity vs torque, and there’s no way around the necessity.Yet another common review complaint is that the neck itself may break. Presumably yes, if you continually twist in a single direction, or constantly twist and untwist it, it will break down fairly quickly – after all, it’s just a bundle of twisty metal threads, yes? For my part, I try to ensure as long a lifespan as possible by minimizing how often I reform the neck, leaving it in the shape it’s in when I remove it so that I don’t have to twist it back again the next time; and by first untwisting/bending it back to fully straight before reforming to a new shape. I imagine this is harder to avoid if you take it traveling a lot, however. With all these potential shortcomings, why is this still a five-star review? Because it just does such a great job of what it’s made for! It’s incredibly satisfying to use, and does exactly what I needed it for! And yes, perhaps it may break after half a year or something. Perhaps even only a quarter-year if I’m as unlucky as some of the other reviewers (though I do anticipate that the techniques above will save me from it being that soon, at least!). But so what? At this price?! I’d gladly consider a $5-10/mo “rental fee” for such a convenient (and now quite indispensable) device, so anything I get beyond a few months is bonus as far as I’m concerned. So if it breaks I’ll just buy another one (in fact I may buy a spare in advance just in case). So now you know: yes, the bad reviews are for the most part correct. AND all the good reviews too. It’s the best tool for the job (AFAIC), but it might possibly break. So what? It’s cheap. And still totally worth it. That’s my 2 cents!

Title: It works works, until it doesn’t-updated review
Review: So updated review the company that makes the product reached out to me, and offered to replace the product without any issues which honestly speaks great of the company and how well they stand behind their product. The product is amazing at its job and now with this new one I have high hopes that it’ll continue to work just as well as the original item.—————————————————————Assembled super easy, It was the perfect size for my iPad Air and my Kindle and my phone, The problem is, it was very stable and now it’s broken! I haven’t had it six months and. The beginning part of it just broke it can no longer hold its shape. Very disappointed I know it wasn’t the most expensive item, but I would have liked to have at least any years use of it before it breaks

Title: Too Strong
Review: The ooooonly reason I’m writing this review is because I’m actually impressed by this thing. I did a search on Amazon for a 15.6″ portable monitor stand & for whatever reason THIS showed up. I saw that it had GREAT reviews & read thru a bunch of them. WELL, when it gets here I’m soooo excited. I open it up, unpacked it, made sure the monitor fit, (it actually did even though it was stretched as far as it would go) & then I clamped it to my desk. Well, I moved the snake part around to where I wanted the monitor to b at & put it in the clamps & THAT’S when I was like, “What? Are you KIDDING me? What a piece of JUNK!”. So when I go to my orders section, for sooooome reason, I decide to go thru the description, (that I didn’t do before. I bought it cause of the pics posted & the reviews. I knew what it was for). THAT’S when I saw that it’s only supposed to support up to 10.5″ tablets. I have NO clue WHY this popped up under me search. The product is GREAT. Suuuuuper easy to hook up & holds tightly. If I wanted a stand for a 10.5″ tablet I would get this 1 IF the price was lower. I don’t understand paying the cost for something to hold a tablet. Like I said, it’s a GREAT product, but costs toooooo much. It’s well made, but it doesn’t need to soooo much force just for a tablet. My monitor is 4.4 lbs & it ALMOST held it. What 10.5″ tablet weighs soooo much that you would need this thing that almost hold 4 1/2lbs. I guess if you reeeeeally wanted your tablet to NEVER move & have too much money then get this thing for sure. I just don’t see spending THIS much money for something that could b made with a smaller neck & clamp for a 10.5″ tablet. In giving it 4 stars oooonly cause they could make JUST a sturdy for $10 cheaper

Title: Holds an iPad or a phone.
Review: Good product lives up to my expectations and allows flexible positioning of my iPad.Seems to be fairly good quality and well-made. I’ve flexed.this around quite a lot and had no problems. The padded clamp is nice as it doesn’t damage your furniture unless you go crazy over tightening – which I haven’t done.

Review: I previously owned a similar product, it was weak and unstable. After switching from a iPad mini to iPad Pro, I decided to purchase a more robust support. I was looking for something strong and stable. I researched and compared a lot of models and end up with this one. The high price was a concern initially, but I can say now that it totally worth it. This thing is built to last, much better investment than a cheap 20$ support that you’ll replace a few times and the risk of damaging your device. Highly recommended.

Review: Quality is brilliant, the arm has girth, unlike someone I know but the clamp which holds it onto desk is very small and not adequate in my humble opinion

Review: The only thing to be sure of that the clamp fits the width of the table or desk. The space I had in mind to use this, it was too wide and the clamp didn’t fit. Aside from that, it a superior quality.
