Title: Works, but isn’t sensitive or well-refined
Review: This ozone detector is alright. It is able to detect ozone, and prove you with a measurement of how much is in the air around it. It comes with a very readable screen, and a built-in rechargeable battery that lasts a nice and long time. However, it is very much so in need of refinement. The menu system is not easy to navigate and change settings inside of, the menu items don’t match what the manual shows/says, and there are plenty of typos and other small issues that a little bit of QA should have found. In addition to that, it’s not very sensitive on the low end. While I can hold it over an ozone-generating lamp and get a reading, it doesn’t seem to be able to pick up on trace amounts in the room that already far-exceed the human-detectible amount of 0.05ppm. In a room that has gone beyond that to levels where you will easily smell it (and likely get a headache from how strong it is), there isn’t any reading that appears. It’s only when you start far exceeding that where the readings start to appear. That all said, it does have some nice features, like a graph of the readouts (both the O3 and temperature), and shows a lot of promise that it could be a great product. It is hard for me to recommend this meter, but at the same time, it isn’t the worst choice for the price.

Title: Reacts somewhat to Ozone, but slow to change. Temp/humidity are not very accurate.
Review: I’ll preface this by saying that I have no lab-quality gear to test this against — so I cannot say how accurate the device is when it comes to O3. I generated some ozone by turning on an electric motor I have, and the meter definitely picked up a change. Ditto when I turned the device off. I don’t know whether it read these correctly, but I do know that the temperature and humidity settings vary by +/- 10% of the actual values. I’m not sure whether this affects the internal model used to calculate the O3 level from the sensor, but it very well may. What I also noticed is that the O3 reading changes rapidly but the Temp/Humidity change very slowly. The settings menu is a bit unintuitive. You hit the power button to pick the setting, then up/down to change it, then power again to set it. Also, the setting that disables the very annoying beep is titled “buzzer set”. Go figure. While I very much doubt their claim that this device is “widely used” in various factories and plants (especially since the brand seems to only be available through Amazon), it strikes me as a passable O3 meter. I doubt the numbers are accurate enough for scientific purposes, but as a rough level detector, I think the device can serve quite well.
