Title: Love the book and the information!
Review: The Prevention: 28-Day Get-Lean Diet for women over 40 starts out providing a lot of great information. I really like the format, how it was explains how everything works together and the importance of each topic.It starts out by breaking the process down into Habits. Each one is covered in 4 pages , with a final summery of Healthy Habits in Action which give you multiple tips in ways that you can be successful. It gets right to the point of to topic with lots of helpful ideas to draw upon in order to increase your own success.The next section is your 28-day meal plan. The week is summarized on the first page, the second page is a shopping list of what you will need for the weeks worth of meals. Following the summery, each single day is on one page. It tells you what you are having in the order you will be eating, including the page of the recipe. You have a place the chart your water intake, how much you moved during the day (not even listed a exercise!), your sleep times, how you felt and last a section for your mood. The layout is very inviting and this is a nice way to track how your healthier lifestyle journey is progressing.The final section is each recipe, in the order that it shows up in your weekly plan. Each recipe includes a color picture of what your finished product may look like. The recipes are easy and inviting, nothing fancy and nothing difficult to prepare. The directions are easy to follow and I had no problem following the directions. There is a nice variety of recipes with a lot of different flavors. Knowledge is the key to helping is to help ourselves and I feel like this has a lot of really good information to help us as we age to make those better decisions for a healthier life. I took away some really useful information that I have put into practice into my life.I like the book and the set-up. If the recipes don’t appeal to me I know I can look for others to substitutes. With the information provided by the book for each recipe it will make it easy for me to find an alternative. The book gives me a structured way to work through a month of meals and to monitor those important aspects which will be helpful to have a healthier life.I would absolutely recommend this book!⭐️ 1 star – I don’t recommend it at all, poor quality, or it does not reflect the advertising.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars – I don’t recommend it, it has multiple faults, or is not priced where it should be for the product.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars – It’s passable. It has some faults, but the quality is adequate for what it is.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars – Product quite acceptable; it does what it promises.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars – Product that I totally recommend.

Title: A cookbook for ONE woman over 40
Review: The recipes have so far been surprisingly good. Fried egg on savory yogurt? Sounds and looks awful, tastes divine. I recommend giving each recipe a try exactly as written, the first time. I personally am not a fan of lemon, but have mostly enjoyed it in these recipes.My frustration is needing the mental aerobics to make the math work. I am cooking for a family of four- fine, multiply ingredients by 4. Except sometimes the recipes are for one, othertimes 7 (why an odd number?), and oh by the way when the recipe is for two the author intends on you eating your “leftovers” for lunch the following day. Ack!I specifically chose this book so I wouldn’t need to count calories, macros, etc. I like on the day planner pages that I can see at a glance all the nutritional information.I do feel like this book has an expectation for the woman over 40 to be staying at home, alone. It requires serious time in the kitchen if you are not familiar with preparing Mediterranean foods.I like this book. I am working my way through the 28 days, and pulling my family along for the ride. But I do suspect I will hunt for a more family friendly book after these 28 days.

Title: Too complicated
Review: This book is part journal, with pages to be filled by the reader. The other two parts are made up one of recipes and other of information easily obtainable with a simple google search. The recipes are very complicated and include speciality ingrediants even for the tiniest thing. For example one does not simply need salt and pepper, but Kosher salt and Aleppo pepper. Who has these things in the pantry?

Review: The recipes in here are so fun to experiment with — my favorite is the Lemon Blueberry Chia Pudding. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to eat healthier, but not have a boring diet.

Title: They thought of everything!
Review: For me, the hardest part of being an adult is meal preparation. It’s not even the actual cooking so much as just thinking about what to make, making a grocery list, going shopping, and using the items before they expire.This book is the perfect solution! It is broken down into three parts: creating healthy habits, 28-day meal plan, and recipes. The first two sections take up about half the book, and recipes take up the other half. The cool thing is that everything is perfectly planned out… The first part of the meal plan section tells you how to use it; the first part of each week breaks down what you will be eating each day and has a shopping list; and each day lists what you will be eating (with page number of recipe) has sections to record water consumption, activity, sleep, feelings, mood, and notes (see pictures for examples).Since it is designed not to leave you with extra, uneaten food, it even includes leftovers in the daily plans. Having the weekly shopping list makes it easy to customize the recipes if you want to. For example, I do not like olives and can choose to omit them or find a substitution. Regarding the habit section, it has some great, well-rounded advice that includes tips on exercise and sleep, not just food.From a practical perspective, I appreciate that the book is spiral bound and really like the cool bookmark that attaches to the spiral (see picture).If you want a diet book that just tells you what to do this is a great option.
